Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She is widely credited with starting the modern science-based study of children's eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in the legal realm. Professor Goodman published widely and has won numerous grants, and has been recognized with numerous International and national awards. She has advised a variety of government bodies and administrations throughout the world regarding policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims within the justice system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has been a member of several professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society and the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was chief of the American Psychological Society's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
