Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of Outstanding Chair in Psychology of the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She has received a lot of praise for being the pioneer of research into witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman has published widely, received many grants and been recognized with various international and national distinctions. She has been consulted by numerous government agencies and governments across the globe on policy as well as research on children as victims in the legal system. She acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society and the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
