Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. The university is widely acknowledged for beginning the current investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won multiple grants, and been awarded numerous internationally and national awards. She has advised a variety of government institutions and authorities throughout the world regarding policies and studies related to way children are treated by the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has memberships with numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
