Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is credited for starting research in modern science on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as using child victims within court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants, and has received numerous International and national awards. She has advised numerous government institutions and authorities all over the world on policy and studies related to treatment of child victims by the justice system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
