Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. She is credited for starting modern science's study on children's memory and eyewitness testimony, as well as the use of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received numerous prizes and grants. She has collaborated with various governments and agencies throughout the world on policies as well as research on children as victims in the legal system. She works as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations for example, that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founder part of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families the Practice and Policy.
